Coroner Seeks Next-Of-Kin For Late Schuylkill County Man
Authorities are looking for the relatives of a 73-year-old Frackville man who died at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest last week. Stanley Taylor died of natural causes on Tuesday, Oct. 3, said Coroner Daniel A. Buglio. 8 Children, 5 Adults Suddenly Sick At PA Day Care Center: State Police
Thirteen people were hospitalized with headaches and dizziness after suddenly falling ill at a North Whitehall day care center on Wednesday morning, Oct. 11, state police say. First responders were called to the Lehigh Valley Children’s Center on Park Avenue in Neffs around 10:30 a.m., troopers said. Allentown Mom Was Shot Through Apartment Door: Police
Police in Allentown have charged a 29-year-old man with Giselle Trabal's fatal shooting last Friday, Sept. 29. Obadiah Whack is accused of shooting the 35-year-old mom of three through the door to her first-floor apartment at 628 North Law Street, APD said. A bullet hole was found in her front door and a 9-millimeter cartridge casing was found on the hallway floor, according to authorities. Mom, 35, Killed In Allentown Shooting Was 'Happy Spirit'
Police have identified the victim of a shooting last week in Allentown as a 35-year-old mother of three. Giselle Karen Trabal was shot around 2 a.m. on the 600 block of North Law Street, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said. She was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, where she was pronounced dead at 4:49 a.m. The cause of death was found to be a gunshot wound to body. Buglio ruled Trabal's death a homicide. Convicted Killer Gets Prison Time For 2021 Allentown Slaying
The gunman convicted of killing 43-year-old Jose Bermudez will spend the next several decades in prison, a Lehigh County judge has ruled. Raymond B. Gourgue, 36, was sentenced to 20 to 40 years on Wednesday, Sept. 27. Gourgue was convicted on murder charges in July. Police said he shot and killed Bermudez on the 100 block of North Hall Street on May 14, 2021. Bermudez was pronounced dead later that night at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, the Lehigh County coroner has said. Gourgue was arrested over a year later in October 2022.

Shooting Victim Identified In Allentown
Authorities in Allentown have named the 58-year-old man who was shot and killed on a city street early Saturday morning, Sept. 23. Orlando Ibanez was struck by gunfire on the 500 block of West Allen Street around 1:45 a.m., said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. Ibanez, of Allentown, was rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest where he died from his wound around 2:20 a.m., the coroner said. His death was ruled a homicide. Allentown police and Lehigh County detectives are investigating, the Coroner's Office added.

Thrill-Seeking Motorcyclist Dies Following Crash In Eastern PA
A 26-year-old motorcyclist has died following a motorcycle crash, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio announced Saturday afternoon. Evyn Hummel of Slatington was involved in a crash with another motor vehicle near 3016 Main St., Washington Township at 1:17 p.m. on Aug. 18, according to Buglio. Evyn was pronounced dead in the Emergency Department at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest at 2:10 p.m., Buglio explained. A Maxatawny woman died after crashing her car in the township Thursday, Aug. 17, according to authorities. Deborah A. Majerich, 67, was driving along Kohler Road near Berks County Park when her vehicle left the roadway and hit a telephone pole, said Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio. She was rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest by Topton EMS where she died from her injuries around 6:15 p.m., the coroner said. The manner of death was ruled accidental. In addition to the Coroner's Office, state police are investigating.

The victim in a 2021 Allentown shooting died from his wounds this week in what the Lehigh County Coroner's Office has ruled as a homicide. Roniel O. Santos-Rivera of Plymouth Meeting was shot in the head on the 1200 block of West Linden Street on Aug. 21, 2021, authorities said. Peter Holzapfel, a Wayne County husband and father, died following an ATV accident in Dreher Township, according to officials. He was 64. Holzapfel, of Newfoundland, was driving along Hilltop Road when his "motor tricycle" overturned on Sunday, July 16, said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.
