DUI Driver Charged In Crash In Berks County
A 37-year-old driver was charged with drunken driving after a crash in Berks County, authorities said on Wednesday, Aug. 14. On June 19, at 4:40 a.m., Spring Township Police received a call for a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Van Reen Road and Stevens Avenue, Spring Township police said. Thaddeus Keich, the operator of the striking vehicle, showed signs of impairment, police said. After an investigation, Keich was charged with DUI. A 25-year-old man died in a single-car crash on Thursday morning, June 6, authorities say. Rashon Christian-James Cooke of Philadelphia crashed at the corner of Berger and Diehl roads in Williams Township, said the Northampton County Coroner's Office. According to state police, Cooke was headed west on Diehl when his truck left the roadway, struck an embankment, and then hit a traffic sign before overturning. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A 30-year-old Pennsylvania man died in a fiery crash on the New Jersey Turnpike over the weekend. The unnamed Huntingdon Valley man was behind the wheel of a Volvo bobtail heading south on the Turnpike in Bordentown when it collided with a Volvo semi-trailer around 4:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, New Jersey State Police Detective I Jeffrey Lebron said. Officials have named the victim who was killed in an Upper Nazareth car crash late on Friday, Nov. 3. Virginia Forest, 64, died from multiple blunt-force trauma, said the Northampton County Coroner's Office. Her manner of death was ruled accidental.
