Crews Douse Pair Of I-80 Vehicle Fires Back-To-Back Fire crews were called to two vehicle fires along Interstate 80 back-to-back on Tuesday morning, fire officials say. Allamuchy fire station 91 was called to a report of a working fire on I-81 near mile marker 17 around 9:40 a.m. on Apr. 5, the department said in a release. Upon arrival, the chief discovered the fire was in the rear of a dump truck and an additional engine was called, as explained in the release. PA Driver Arrested After Crash, Pursuit On I-80 A Pennsylvania driver fled the scene of a single-car crash along I-80 in New Jersey and led police on a chase, authorities said. Matthew Farrance, 32, fled after crashing in the westbound lanes at milepost 22.6 in Allamuchy (Warren County), NJ State Police said. Troopers caught up with the driver near Johnsonburg Road, where they spotted him running, they said. Trapped Victim Flown To Hospital Following Route 80 Crash One person was airlifted to a nearby hospital after becoming trapped inside their vehicle in a crash on Route 80, authorities said. The crash occurred in the westbound lanes near milepost 16.6 in Allamuchy on the afternoon of Monday, March 28, the local fire department confirmed on social media. The patient was “hastily” extricated from the vehicle by emergency crews who were at the scene within minutes, the department said.
