The incident happened on Tuesday, March 31, at around 8:30 p.m. in Ellenville, New York State Police said on Thursday, April 2.
Authorities identified the victim as Nicole Izabella Perez, age 29, of Ellenville.

A 64-year-old man was found dead after a house fire in Sullivan County, police said.
The fire broke out on Wednesday, March 18, at around 8:40 p.m. on Linda Lane in Mamakating, New York State Police said on Thursday, March 19.
Troopers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a structure fire. When they arrived, firefighters from the Bloomingburg Fire Department told them a person was believed to be inside the home.

The fatal shooting of an Aliquippa High School senior by a federal agent has been ruled justified, Beaver County District Attorney Nate Bible announced during a press conference on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
