Large Brush Fire Breaks Out At Harriman State Park In Rockland
For two days, numerous Hudson Valley fire departments battled a stubborn brush fire atop Nordkop Mountain.
The fire occurred in Rockland County on Saturday, Oct. 26, and Sunday, Oct. 27, in Harriman State Park in Hillburn.
The Hillburn Fire Department, with the assistance of several fire departments and New York State Park rangers, battled the blaze that consumed acres.
According to the Hillburn Fire Department, firefighters cut fire lines and worked to put out the blaze, which they described as "difficult and stubborn."

Massive Hudson Valley Fire That Destroyed Two Businesses Under Investigation
An investigation is continuing after a four-alarm fire that destroyed a food market and an office and damaged several other businesses.
The fire started around 6 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 12, in a two-story commercial building at 83 Lafayette Ave., in Suffern, that houses numerous businesses including a flower shop, restaurants, and more.
According to Suffern Fire Chief Jeremy Kaufer, when firefighters arrived on the scene they found heavy fire showing from the second floor of the rear of the building.

Area Home Where Three Were Overcome By Fumes Had No Carbon Monoxide Sensors
There were no carbon monoxide sensors in a home where three people were found unconscious on Tuesday, Ramapo Police said.
The three, two teens, ages 14 and 16, and a 54-year-old woman, were found unconscious by a man who lives in the Bolger Lane home after being overcome by fumes around 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 5, said Ramapo Police Lt. Chris Franklin.
All three are hospitalized and in stable condition early Wednesday, March 6, said Franklin.

Family Loses Four Pets, All Belongings In Massive Suffern House Fire
A Suffern family lost everything it owned, including four beloved pets during a massive house fire.
The Suffern Fire Department said when they responded to the fire on Wednesday on Washington Avenue, they encountered heavy fires and worked for more than three hours before the fire was out. The department was assisted by numerous neighboring fire departments.
