A man from the region was found with a .357 Desert Eagle in the front of his pants during a traffic stop by state police in the Hudson Valley.
Ulster County resident Jason Lynch, age 44, of the town of Lloyd, was stopped around 1:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 4 in a 2014 Lexus IS in the city of Newburgh.
According to Trooper Steven Nevel, while troopers were speaking to Lynch, they learned that his license was suspended, and he seemed to be impaired by alcohol.

Arizona Man Wanted For Violent Crimes Apprehended In Hudson Valley
A fugitive wanted for violent crimes in Arizona has been nabbed in the Hudson Valley, according to police.
In Orange County, officers with the Town of Crawford Police Department were first informed on Tuesday, Aug. 9 that a man with three separate arrest warrants out of Arizona was staying at a home in Crawford.
On Wednesday, Aug. 10, officers responded to the home, but were unable to find the man, police said.
A short time later, the suspect walked into the town’s police station and was arrested without incident.

Parolee Nabbed For DWI, Possession Of Weapon In Hudson Valley, Police Say
A man on parole for manslaughter is facing new legal trouble after he was allegedly busted driving drunk and carrying a gun, New York State Police said.
Troopers stopped Orange County resident Michael Maisonet, age 44, of New Windsor, at around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, May 5, as he drove on Renwick Street in Newburgh.
During their conversation with him, troopers determined that Maisonet was impaired by alcohol and arrested him, police said.
As he was being apprehended, troopers found a 9mm semi-automatic pistol in his pants, along with a loaded, 17-round magazine, police said.

A failing restaurateur who conspired with members of his family to burn down his Hudson Valley business as part of an insurance fraud scheme is facing a host of charges, authorities announced.
Orange County resident Zef Gjurashaj, age 59, of Newburgh, and his nephew’s wife, Yonkers resident Marina Gjurashaj, age 37, were indicted and charged with a series of crimes for allegedly conspiring to burn down his restaurant in 2017.
Specifically, the two were charged by an Orange County grand jury with:

Conspiracy;
Insurance fraud;
Tax fraud;

A Hudson Valley woman has been indicted on charges including attempted murder in a connection with the alleged stabbing of a woman during what might have been a 'love triangle' disagreement.
Ariana Sanchez, age 22, of Newburgh, was charged on Monday, July 19, said Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler.
The indictment alleges that on Saturday, June 19, Sanchez repeatedly stabbed another woman multiple times, including in the chest, back, and leg in the area of Lake Street in the City of Newburgh.

Agapito Camacho, age 46, of the City of Newburgh, was arrested on Sunday, May 10, after state police responded to a Walmart store for a report that he attempted to leave the store with $1,146.86 worth of merchandise but was stopped by a store security guard, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel.

Duo Charged In Fatal Shooting Of 21-Year-Old Area Woman
Two men have been indicted by a grand jury on murder charges for the September shooting death of a 21-year-old college student in New Windsor.
Cornelius Stubbs, 48, and Carlos Rivera, 47, both of Newburgh, were arraigned Friday, Dec. 13, on an indictment charging them with first-degree murder, said the Orange County District Attorney's Office.
Chelsea Debidi, of Walden, was killed at the Knox Village Apartments at the home of her 20-year-old boyfriend’s family.
