Fight Over Pet Guinea Pig Leads Roommates To Assault Each Other In Hudson Valley: Police Two roommates face assault charges after a verbal dispute over a pet guinea pig on Easter turned violent in the Hudson Valley, police said.  The incident happened on Easter Sunday, April 9 around 7:30 p.m., when police responded to a residence in Mahopac for a reported dispute between roommates, according to Carmel Police.  The fight involved their pet guinea pig and eventually turned physical when both roommates began assaulting each other. The average seven-day COVID-19 positive infection rate in the region rose more than .20 points, up to 3.61 percent of those tested on Tuesday, April 5, though it remains one of the lowest rates of New York's 10 regions.
