Man Breaks Into Vending Machine, Steals Money, Stony Point Police Say

STONY POINT, N.Y. -- A Monroe man, wanted in New Jersey, is behind bars after breaking into a vending machine and stealing the cash, according to the Stony Point Police.

Thomas Hart, 52, was charged with criminal mischief, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and being a fugitive from justice, following an investigation into the vandalism of the vending machine that occurred on Oct. 27, 2016, police said.

Following his arrest, police learned that Hart was also wanted for criminal mischief in New Jersey. He is being held at the Rockland County Jail pending extradition to New Jersey, police said.
