GARNERVILLE, N.Y. — Catherine M. Farewell, 88 of Garnerville, died Oct. 30.
She was born Nov. 11, 1927, in the Bronx, to John and Catherine (Cunningham) Gormley.
She was a charter and founding member of St. Gregory Barbarigo Church in Garnerville. She was a founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the David B. Roche Fire Department.
She was predeceased by her husband, Howard; and sisters, Helen, Claire, Peggy and Gertrude.
She is survived by her children, Steven (Denise), Howard (Kim), Chris (Maria Caseres) and Craig; and grandchildren, Howard, Nikki, Julianne, Kyle, Kelly, Brian, Christopher, Kevin, Matthew, Catherine and James.
The family will receive friends and family from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, 29-49 Cinder Road, Garnerville. A private cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to either the David B. Roche Fire Department or St. Gregory’s Church.
