HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -- Bolivar Marchand, a resident of Haverstraw, died Sunday, March 27. He was 86.
He was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Haverstraw, where he has lived for the last seventy years.
He served in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
He is survived by daughters, Mildred Rivera and her husband Derek, and Janet; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters Iris Resto and Idalia Norfleet; and brother Claudio Sanchez Jr.
He was predeceased by his wife, Germania Marchand and a daughter Marilyn Marchand.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 1, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the George M. Holt Funeral Home, 50 New Main St., Haverstraw.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at St Peter's Church, 115 Broadway, Haverstraw, NY. Burial will follow with military honors.
