Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Threatening Video Causes Alarm For Middle School Officials In Charles County: Sheriff Alarm bells were sounded for some school administrators when a video of a middle school student making purported threats made the rounds in Charles County. Shortly after 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, an officer assigned to the Benjamin Stoddert Middle School in Waldorf was alerted of a student who was showing video of themselves to other students holding what appeared to be a firearm. Rabies Alert Issued After Raccoon Tests Positive For Virus In Anne Arundel County A new alert has been issued in Anne Arundel County after a raccoon tested positive for rabies. The county's Department of Health issued an alert on Friday, Nov. 15 advising that a raccoon that was trapped in the area of Seamore Street and Marco Drive in the Cedarwood Cove Community in Pasadena tested positive on Thursday for the virus. It is the second such alert in a week. Stores Evacuated At Germantown Shopping Center Due To Ruptured Gas Line (Developing) Some businesses were evacuated on Friday morning in Montgomery County when gas leak was reported outside an area shopping center.
