2 Dutchess County Jail Inmates Arrested Again For New Crimes
Two inmates at a Hudson Valley jail have been charged with new crimes while behind bars. Dutchess County residents William Green Jr., age 30, of Poughkeepsie, and Craig Albrecht, age 41, of East Fishkill, were charged on Wednesday, May 1. According to Capt. John Watterson with the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Green and Albrecht were arrested separately for the same crime. 90 Cats Rescued From 'Deplorable' Hudson Valley Home
Police are investigating after 90 cats were in poor health and deplorable living conditions in a home in the region. Dutchess County Sheriff's Office members discovered the cats at a home in Dover on Saturday, May 4. According to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to the home for a report of animal cruelty. Upon investigation, 90 cats were in poor health and were rescued by deputies and volunteer animal rescue workers. Police in the Hudson Valley are investigating after a man was shot on a popular basketball court. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 11 p.m., Thursday, May 2, on South Park Avenue in Beacon. According to Det. Sgt. Jason Johnson of the Beacon Police officers responded to South Davies Terrace for a report of shots fired. Johnson said officers located a 20-year-old man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Police are searching for a suspect after two teens were shot in the neck near a high school in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, close to Poughkeepsie High School in the area of Fox Terrace and South White Street in Poughkeepsie. According to Det. Lt. An overturned kayaker was rescued from the waters of the Hudson River by a tour boat and firefighters. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, near Dennings Point and Long Dock Park. A 46-year-old woman died in a house trailer fire in the region, reportedly attempting to save her cats. With a smile and a shiny plaque in her hands, a Hudson Valley school bus driver was named Driver of the Year. Dutchess County resident, Linda Lawlor of the Hyde Park Central School District, was recently named School Bus Driver of the Year by the Dutchess County Traffic Safety Board.
