Dutchess Residents Nabbed For DWI, Almost Hitting Cop Car Over Holiday Weekend: Police
Several people, including Connecticut residents, were apprehended for impaired driving over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in the Hudson Valley, including several incidents involving crashes and dangerous driving behaviors, authorities announced.
The arrests, which occurred in Putnam County between Tuesday, Nov. 26, and Wednesday, Dec. 4, were announced by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday.
The first of the incidents happened on Nov. 26, when deputies were dispatched to a two-car crash on Route 311 in Patterson near McManus Road North.

Parolee Nabbed For DWI, Possession Of Weapon In Hudson Valley, Police Say
A man on parole for manslaughter is facing new legal trouble after he was allegedly busted driving drunk and carrying a gun, New York State Police said.
Troopers stopped Orange County resident Michael Maisonet, age 44, of New Windsor, at around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, May 5, as he drove on Renwick Street in Newburgh.
During their conversation with him, troopers determined that Maisonet was impaired by alcohol and arrested him, police said.
As he was being apprehended, troopers found a 9mm semi-automatic pistol in his pants, along with a loaded, 17-round magazine, police said.

Suspect Nabbed After Police Sergeant Dragged During Traffic Stop In Hudson Valley
A New York State trooper was injured when he was dragged by a vehicle he had stopped for a traffic violation in the Hudson Valley.
Sergeant Gregory Lischak was injured in Dutchess County around 1:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16 during the stop on Route 9G in Rhinebeck.
A preliminary investigation determined the driver, Nicolas Antunano, age 23, of Poughkeepsie, was wanted on an outstanding warrant, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
While attempting to take Antunano into custody, Antunano abruptly drove away from the scene, dragging Lischak, he added.

Man Killed, Officer Injured In Head-On Area Crash, Police Say
A 49-year-old man was killed and an officer injured during a two-vehicle head-on crash.
It happened in Dutchess County shortly before 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, in Beacon.
Derron E. Holmes, of Beacon, was killed in the crash involving a Subaru Outback and a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
According to Det. Sgt. Jason Johnson, of the Beacon Police Department, Holmes was driving the Subaru in the area of Fishkill Avenue in Beacon, when he collided head-on with the Jeep.

An area man was charged with DWI/drugs after he was allegedly found passed out in the middle of a Walgreen parking in his vehicle with the motor running.
Sullivan County resident Jason Roberts, age 32, of Forestburgh, was arrested on Friday, Oct. 22, after Monticello Police received a call about a suspicious vehicle in the Walgreen's parking lot.
According to Lt. Mark Johnstone, of the Monticello Police, when officers arrived, Roberts was awakened by the officer and while being handcuffed, physically struggled with the officer before being taken into custody, Johnstone said.…
Northern Westchester Man Charged With DUI Following Crash, State Police Say
A Northern Westchester man was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after losing control of his vehicle and hitting an embankment.
Christopher Sweeting, age unavailable, of Yorktown, was arrested around 11 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 15 in Cortlandt, following the crash on Bear Mountain Bridge Road, said. Trooper AJ Hicks.
According to Hicks, Sweeting was traveling across the Bear Mountain Bridge Road when he crossed the center line and hit an embankment near Route 9.

A park ranger on duty in the Hudson Valley crashed a county vehicle while his two daughters were passengers, according to authorities.
Orange County resident Christopher Granata, age 41, of New Windsor, was involved in the crash while on duty in Rockland County at the Haverstraw Bay County Park during an Independence Day fireworks celebration, according to Rockland Sheriff Louis Falco.

New York State Police are saying a man was driving a tractor while his blood alcohol content was nearly four times the legal limit.
State troopers arrested Steven Harrison, age 42, on Monday, July 5 in the area of Weaver Dam Road in Petersburg, located in Rensselaer County, about 28 miles east of Albany, near the Massachusetts border.

Destiny S. Pettway, age 30, of Newburgh, was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 26, by New York State Police after troopers responded to a report of a sick person on I-87 in the town of Bethlehem, said Trooper Tara McCormick.
