25-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed In Crash With SUV Near Danbury Mall Entrance A 25-year-old Fairfield County man was killed following a crash with a car, according to Danbury Police. Samuel Hyde of Danbury died Thursday following a serious crash around 7 p.m. on Backus Avenue near the west entrance of the Danbury Mall, said Danbury Police Det. Lt. Mark Williams. An investigation into the crash found that Hyde was operating a Honda CBR 954RR motorcycle at a high rate of speed, westbound on Backus Avenue when the motorcycle struck a 2008 Honda CRV, Williams said. Course staff reported damage to the course that occurred sometime between Sunday, Aug. 5 and Monday, Aug. 6, Danbury Police said. The course manager estimates the cost to the repair the damage to be in the thousands of dollars. Richter Park Golf Course is offering a reward for information that leads to a conviction.
