Hudson Valley Man Charged With 2020 Murder Of Area Man
A local man has been arrested and charged with a murder in the area.
Dutchess County resident Carl Hannans, of the Village of Rhinebeck and formerly of the City of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Tuesday, May 11, for the April 2020 murder of Evan Davis, age 28, authorities announced.
Davis, a City of Poughkeepsie resident, was shot and killed at the Martin Luther King Housing Project, 159 Washington Street, said City of Poughkeepsie Police. Det. Lt. Matt Clark.

21-Year-Old Charged With Attempted Murder Of Teen In Area, Police Say
A 21-year-old local man has been arrested for the shooting of a teen last year during an attempted robbery.
Carl Hannan, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Tuesday, March 30, for the shooting which took place on Thursday, Feb. 13, at 1:05 a.m., in the City of Poughkeepsie, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark of the City of Poughkeepsie Police.
Clark said the then 17-year-old male was shot at multiple times, and hit once during an attempted robbery, while in an alley by 71 Garden Street in the City of Poughkeepsie.

Man With Stolen Handgun Fights With Police, Is Tased Before Arrest In Area, Police Say
A 26-year-old man who allegedly had a stolen loaded handgun in his waistband fought with police who attempted to arrest him during a traffic stop in the area.
Rawl D. Deslandes, of the City of Poughkeepsie, was arrested around 2:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 9, after City of Poughkeepsie officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Main and White streets, said Captain Richard Smith.
During the investigative stages of the stop, Deslandes was found to be in possession of a stolen loaded handgun, in his waistband, Smith said.

14-Year-Old Shooting Victim Dies From His Injuries, Police Say
A 14-year-old boy who was shot in the head over the weekend has died from his injuries.
According to the City of Poughkeepsie Police, Akeem Stevens was found shot in the head around 10 p.m., Friday, Jan. 8, at a home at 32 Conklin Street, after receiving a 911 call.
When officers arrived on the scene, Stevens was still alive, said Captain Rich Wilson.
He later died from his injuries at Westchester Medical Center, Wilson said.
"We do not have a suspect at this time and the investigation is very active," Wilson said.
