Poughkeepsie Woman Charged With Criminal Impersonation

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - A 42-year-old Poughkeepsie woman is facing criminal impersonation charges after an incident involving the opening of a credit card account, state police from the Wappinger barracks said.

An investigation concluded that Yajaira Bernabel had opened up a credit card in a complainant’s name without permission to do so, state police said.

Bernabel was charged on Thursday with criminal impersonation and falsifying business records, both Class A misdemeanors.

She is scheduled to appear in the Village of Wappingers Falls Court on Sept. 13.
