Citing the most recent data from the U.S. Census NewYorkUpstate has released a report of the municipalities with the highest median household incomes in upstate, which were considered the counties north of Rockland and Westchester counties for the study.
The study only covered upstate towns, villages and hamlets, not cities.
Among the Hudson Valley municipalities that made the list include:
Orange County
- Tuxedo Park (first overall) with a median income of $130,625 among 221 households;
- Salisbury Mills (eighth), with a median income of $109,018 among 97 households;
- Beaver Dam Lake (ninth), with a median income of $108,245 among 629 households;
- Walton Park (12th), with a median income of $106,111 among 636 households;
- West Point (13th), with a median income of $106,094 among 819 households;
- Fort Montgomery (23rd), with a median income of $97,589 among 577 households;

- Cornwell-on-Hudson (28th), with a median income of $95,577 among 1,054 households.
Putnam County
- Nelsonville (25th), with a median income of $96,944 among 230 households;
- Mahopac (29th), with a median income of $95,521 among 2,836 households;
- Carmel Hamlet (45th), with a median income of $87,533 among 2,169 households.
Dutchess County
- Merritt Park (second overall), with a median income of $129,773 among 576 households;
- Spackenkill (fifth), with a median income of $113,821 among 1,384 households;
- Rhinecliff (11th), with a median income of $106,563 among 78 households;
- Titusville (17th), with a median income of $100,750 among 241 households;
- Brinckerhoff (18th), with a median income of $100,625 among 925 households;
- Myers Corner (27th), with a median income of $95,809 among 2,389 households;
- Hillside Lake (31st), with a median income of $95,329 among 335 households;
- Salt Point (32nd), with a median income of $94,219 among 53 households;
- Hyde Park (39th), with a median income of $86,719 among 735 households.
