Harvest House Tavern in Malverne is garnering plenty of buzz since holding its grand opening in mid December 2024.
The cozy, upscale eatery, which bills itself as a “New American cocktail bar” with a farm-to-table menu and craft cocktails, is the brainchild of co-owners Ross Gollub, Stephen LaSpina, and Chris Meyer.

The Long Island community is mourning the sudden loss of a young advocate whose passion for mental health awareness and helping others left a lasting impact.
Elysia “Elly” Colón, 23, from Oceanside, died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 24, according to her obituary. A cause of death was not given.
“It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Elly Colon, who left us far too soon,” Mickie Lewis wrote on a GoFundMe. “The loss has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled.”

Punxsutawney Phil may soon be out of a job—if PETA has its way. The animal rights organization sent a letter on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, urging the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club to retire its famed groundhog to a sanctuary and replace him with a vegan “Weather Reveal” cake.
