Voters will look at issues such as how the board, mainly Republicans, slashed costs and restructured and the controversy stemming from suspension of Police Chief Michael Sullivan, said the report.
Adrienne Carey, of Nanuet, filled a vacant seat by appointment in May votes mostly with "the board's 4-1 GOP majority," said lohud.
Her challenger, Daniel Caprara, who lives in New City, would align with Stephanie Hausner who is the only Democrat on the board, according to lohud.
He toughly criticized the board's takeover of a ward system to replace the townwide method of electing board members, according to the report.
Carey said letting the Town Board draw the lines was in the "best interest" of residents, said lohud.
