Central Nyack Chief Mike Healy told lohud.com that firefighters found heavy fire in the basement of the vacant home at 10:30 a.m., but had to leave when the first floor began to collapse.
An eviction notice was posted on the front door dated July and a 40-yard trash container was sitting, filled in the driveway, said lohud.com.
The Clarkstown fire inspector's office, along with the Clarkstown police are investigating the fire, added lohud.com.
