Brennan, Rockland’s purchasing director for more than 20 years, was feted at a recent luncheon where he was given the National Institute of Government Procurement’s highest honor, the Albert H. Hall Memorial Award.
"The rest of the nation now knows what we in Rockland has known for a long time – Paul Brennan is an outstanding professional who never forgets that he is working for the best interests of the taxpayer," Day said.
Jack Adger, chairman of the institute’s governing board, said Brennan was “steady and analytical in every approach to a challenge and is constant in his pursuit of enhancing the value of public procurement."
Adger presented Brennan with the award at a luncheon attended by more than 1,000 people.
He praised Brennan’s "incessant passion for research, knowledge sharing, and benchmarks as a pathway for improving his operations at Rockland County."
The institute has 3,000 member agencies representing more than 15,000 professionals in the United States, Canada and other countries.
