Man Gets 40-Year Sentence After Armed Robbery Attempt For Painkillers At Area Hospital
The 43-year-old man who attempted to rob an area hospital at gunpoint and proceeded to break into area homes and stole a car while fleeing from police will spend decades behind bars. Ulster County resident Joshua Stuart, of Pine Hill, was convicted at trial on felony counts of robbery, burglary and criminal trespass earlier this year in connection with the incident at Ellenville Regional Hospital in the fall of 2018. Scam Alert: Beware Of Calls, Texts From Fake Uber Employees
There's a new Uber scam and police are warning area residents to be aware of it. Scam callers claiming to be Uber employees say they need to verify your account login credentials. If the victim doesn't immediately agree, the scammer will say there has been some suspicious activity on your account and "in order to continue driving, you will need to verify four out of five questions." Police Officer Injured In Crash ID'd After Being Airlifted To Westchester Medical Center
Police have identified the Town of Woodbury officer who had to be airlifted to the Westchester Medical Center after being involved in a crash on Tuesday night. Officer James Tremper’s police cruiser went off the road in Orange County at approximately 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at the intersection of Timber Trail and Ridge Road in Woodbury, police said. Identifying Driver Killed In Fiery Rockland Crash Could Take Time, Police Say
Police say it could take "quite a bit of time" to identify a driver who was killed in a single-vehicle crash. The crash took place around 6 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 8, in Haverstraw on Letchworth Village Road and Storms Road, said Haverstraw Police Capt. Martin Lund. The driver was killed when the car they were driving hit a tree and burst into flames, police said. There were no passengers in the vehicle, Lund said. Police Cruiser Involved In Crash With Motorcycle In Rockland
A police department vehicle was involved in a crash with a motorcycle in Rockland County. The crash occurred 9:30 p.m. on Route 45 in Hillcrest, just north of Williams Avenue in Hillcrest, the Ramapo Police Department said. The motorcyclist was transported to Westchester Medical Center where he is currently in stable condition. The police officer was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital. Police are warning residents who use a popular trail in Rockland to be on the lookout for a man who has exposed his genitals to joggers on two occasions. The department received a report of the first incident around 11:30 a.m. on June 29, when a jogger was north on Hader Trail between the villages of South Nyack and Piermont, said Chief Daniel Wilson.
