Smith, of the Bronx, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 20, when stopped by state police on 1-87 in the town of Ulster for a traffic violation, state police said. During the stop, Smith was found to be intoxicated while traveling with a 9-year-old child. He was taken into custody, and the child was turned over to a responsible party, state police said. Florencio Diaz, age 39, of Yonkers, was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 9, after New York State Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash in the village of Elmsford, said the state police. Hudson Valley Woman Arrested For DWI After Running Car Into Ditch Police charged an area woman with a DWI after she allegedly crashed her car into a ditch.  Ulster County resident Ehlana M. Covert, age 26,  of Saugerties, was uninjured when police responded to the scene of the crash on Churchland Road in Saugerties on Sunday, Dec. 20, according to the Saugerties Police Department.  She was evaluated by paramedics at the scene, police said, before she was brought to police headquarters and her blood alcohol content was measured at 0.15 percent.  Covert was released to a third party, and will appear in court at a later date.

Orange County resident Michael Burgher, of Washingtonville, 54, was stopped late on Saturday, Sept. 12 in Orange County when he committed a traffic violation in New Windsor, Police Chief Robert Doss announced.
