Suffern Teen Arrested After Threatening Family, Say Police

SUFFERN, N.Y. – An 18-year-old Suffern man was charged with criminal contempt for violating an order to stay away from his parents, police said.

The unidentified teen was arrested after, police said, he went to their house and threatened to "kill all the family members.”

He was sent to Rockland County Jail on an unspecified bail, police said.

Police also arrested a 56-year-old Spring Valley man after, they said, he got into a fight with his brother.

According to police, the suspect damaged some property in his brother’s house in the village.

Police said they also made a number of vehicle and traffic arrests, including the following:

  • A 65-year-old Suffern man was pulled over on Oakdale Manor and ticketed for having a false inspection sticker on his vehicle, police said.
  • A 39-year-old Milford, Pa. man who was stopped at a commercial vehicle safety checkpoint was found to be driving a truck with a suspended license, police said.
  • A 24-year-old Spring Valley man and a 48-year-old Suffern woman were also stopped at the checkpoint. They were both charged with having a suspended registration.
