The $6.4 million bond had originally been passed in February, but it was tabled due to the language in the bond, lohud.com said.
The state Department of Labor's Public Employee Safety and Health Bureau had issued four violations in March due to the condition of the department's equipment, reported lohud.com.
New gear for firefighters is expected to arrive within 90 days, and plans are in place to purchase a newer firetruck to replace the department's 25-year old model, lohud.com noted.
