Sporadic, 15-Minute Closures Scheduled For Busy Roadway In Region
A busy roadway in Northern Westchester will have intermittent closures for a six-hour period over the weekend. The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists to expect the sporadic 15-minute traffic stoppages along Route 9A between Browns Lane and Skyline Drive in Mount Pleasant on Saturday, Sept. 14, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., to facilitate overhead wire work.

A teenager faces a felony charge after sending threatening emails to a school in the Hudson Valley, police said. The arrest resulted from an incident on Friday, Sept. 6, when a school in Putnam County's Green Chimneys School District within the town of Patterson alerted the Putnam County Sheriff's Office of concerning emails it had received, the Sheriff's Office said on Friday, Sept. 13. Man Found Dead In Pool At Orange County Home
Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a Hudson Valley home pool. The incident occurred in Orange County around 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, on Aster Way in Wallkill. According to Wallkill Police Lt. Robert McLymore, officers discovered the victim, a 79-year-old Sullivan County man from Rock Hill, unconscious and unresponsive while in the pool. Officers and EMS immediately began life-saving measures, including CPR, McLymore said. Crash Causes Hours-Long Road Closure In Rockland County
A serious traffic crash in the Hudson Valley is causing an hours-long road closure. The crash occurred in Rockland County early on Friday, Sept. 13, on Route 45 in Ramapo. According to the Ramapo Police, Orange & Rockland Utilities will close Route 45 at Rensselaer and New Hempstead for the next 8 to 12 hours while working on repairs. Justin Timberlake formally accepted a plea deal in his alleged drunk driving case in New York. The former NSYNC frontman, age 43, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of driving while ability impaired in Sag Harbor Village court on Friday, Sept. 13. A Rockland County man is being held in the Bergen County jail after police said he held his former employer and coworkers hostage, demanding money and threatening them with his dog.
