Long Island Man Nabbed For String Of Burglaries, Police Say
A man has been arrested for allegedly committing at least seven burglaries on Long Island.
Scott Gilmor, age 45, of Hicksville, was arrested by Nassau County Police in Hempstead on Tuesday, Aug. 23.
According to detectives, a thorough investigation determined that Gilmor was responsible for multiple burglaries that occurred in Nassau County on the following dates:

Former Bookkeeper From Westbury Accused Of Embezzling $120K
A former Long Island bookkeeper has been charged with allegedly stealing more than $120,000 from a local trade union.
Jennifer Jira, age 40, of Westbury, was arraigned on Thursday, Aug. 18, and charged with grand larceny and falsifying business records, said Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly.
Jira pleaded not guilty and was released on her own recognizance. If convicted on the top charge, she faces. up to 15 years in prison.

Long Island Duo Charged With Robbery After Change Machine 'Ate Their Money,' Police Say
A Long Island duo was charged with robbery after they allegedly stole $20 from a laundromat attendant after the cash change machine ate their money.
The incident took place in Westbury around 8:40 p.m., Monday, July 18.
According to detectives, William Solarzano, age 18, and Jennifer Coreas, age 24, both of Hempstead, entered Olivia’s Laundromat located at 535 Old Country Road to do laundry.
Solarzano told a female employee the change machine did not dispense quarters after he inserted his money, Nassau County Police said.
