A Westchester County man suffered serious injuries after lighting a firework on Independence Day evening on Long Island. According to Suffolk County Police, the incident happened in Copiague around 9:10 p.m. on Thursday, July 4. The man, a 21-year-old resident of the town of Eastchester, was lighting a firework at a party in front of a house on the 200 block of Trouville Road when it exploded in his hand. Emilia Rennhack was off duty and getting her nails done when an SUV came barreling through the front window of Long Island’s Hawaii Nail & Spa, located in Deer Park on Commack Road, on Friday afternoon, June 28. A Long Island man is permanently disfigured following a fireworks mishap. The accident happened at around 9 p.m. Saturday, June 29, in Brentwood at a residence on Eastern Avenue near Nostrand Avenue. Quick-thinking residents and a group of officers were able to reunite a set of lost ducklings with their mother. It happened on Saturday, June 22 in Yaphank. According to Suffolk County Police, residents in the Belmont Circle area noticed a mother duck squawking near a storm drain. A child is in critical condition after being found unresponsive in a swimming pool at a Long Island home. Man Hid Human Remains Found Along Long Island Highway: Police
A man has been arrested after police said he concealed human remains that were found along a local highway. Garry Cowell, age 72 of Patchogue, was arrested on Thursday, June 27, according to Suffolk County Police. At approximately 4:30 p.m., police discovered human remains in East Patchogue along Montauk Highway near County Road 101. Disaster was averted when police rescued two Long Islanders from their sinking boat. It happened off the coast of Northport on Thursday, June 27, Suffolk County Police said.
