Long Island Man Indicted For String Of Burglaries, ATM Theft, DA Says
A Long Island man faces up to 15 in prison for a string of alleged commercial burglaries in November 2020.
Kieran Fichtner, age 27, of St. James, was arraigned last week on charges associated with the burglaries, as well as for the alleged theft of an ATM machine along with an accomplice, an accomplice, Michael Parise, 46, of Stony Brook, said Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy D. Sini.
“These two individuals are alleged serial burglars who were targeting businesses and driving crime in our community,” Sini said.

Suspect Nabbed For 10 Long Island Business Burglaries
A suspect has been accused of burglarizing 10 Long Island businesses.
Canine Section Officer Sean Clarke and his partner Brock were on patrol in Stony Brook in response to recent overnight burglaries when Clarke observed the suspect break the glass door of Subway, located in Stony Brook at 2350 Route 347, at approximately 1:25 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, Suffolk County Police said.
Clarke and the canine chased the man who, after a physical struggle, was taken into custody.

Long Island Man Shoots Housemate With Crossbow, Police Say
A Long Island man was arrested after allegedly shooting his housemate with a crossbow.
James Nicosia was involved in a discussion with his landlord at his home, located at 269 Hallock Road, in Stony Brook, when Xiaonan Sun, who is the landlord’s son and one of Nicosia’s housemates, shot him with a crossbow around 6:55 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 29, said the Suffolk County Police.
Nicosia, 41, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital in serious, but stable condition.
Sixth Squad detectives charged Sun, 36, with assault.

Man Crossing Busy Long Island Street Struck, Killed By Vehicle
A man was killed after being struck by a vehicle as he was crossing a busy street on Long Island.
The incident happened Tuesday, Dec. 29 at approximately 6:45 p.m. in Stony Brook.
Kimani R. Porter, age 31, of Brooklyn, was driving a 2017 Dodge truck southbound on Nicolls Road, at the intersection of Shirley Kenny Drive, when the vehicle struck the 60-year-old man who was crossing the street, Suffolk County Police said.
The victim, Kenneth Rott, 60, of Kings Park, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Porter was not injured.
