Long Island Man Facing Charges For Drug Possession, Resisting Arrest, Police Say
A Long Island man is facing charges after police said he was found in possession of drugs and resisted arrest, injuring two officers.
Gregory Booker, age 57, was arrested at about 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22 in Roosevelt, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
NCPD said officers "conducted an investigation at the corner of Woods Avenue and Gilbert Place," and arrested Booker.
Police said Booker, who is from Roosevelt, resisted arrest, and two officers sustained injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

An MS-13 member was sentenced for helping plan and participating in two murders on Long Island.
Kevin Lopez-Morales, age 23, of Roosevelt, was sentenced on Tuesday, Aug. 31, to 24 years to life in prison, Acting Nassau County District Attorney Joyce Smith announced.
Lopez-Morales pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder on Sept. 9, 2019.

A second suspect has been charged in connection to a shooting that killed one person and injured two others at a Long Island July 4th block party.
The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 4 in Roosevelt, where Nassau County Police say two groups were involved in an altercation at the party on Hudson Avenue.

The investigation was conducted in Roosevelt at 2 Babylon Turnpike on Friday, May 21 at 8:30 p.m., Nassau County Police announced.

LI Man, Juvenile Nabbed After Shots Were Fired In Neighborhood, Police Say
A teen and a juvenile were arrested following a shooting incident on Long Island.
Jamal Cole, age 19, of Uniondale, was arrested around 6:50 p.m., Wednesday, April 14, in Uniondale after police responded to a report of shots fired, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, officers responded to Ash Court for a call of multiple shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers began an investigation and safely recovered a Ruger handgun and a shell casing.
The investigation led to the arrests of Cole, and a 17-year-old from Roosevelt, police said.
