A Long Island man has been accused of assault after a police officer was injured while attempting to apprehend him.
The incident took place in Roosevelt around 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the So Good Deli on Nassau Road.
According to detectives, officers responded to a 911 call for an intoxicated man at So Good Deli located at 425 Nassau Road.

Woman Accused Of Robbing Bethpage 7-Eleven While Armed With Box Cutter
A 31-year-old woman was apprehended after police said she robbed a 7-Eleven on Long Island.
Lexus Hughes, of Queens, was arrested for a robbery that happened at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, July 29, in Bethpage, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
NCPD said Hughes entered the 7-Eleven, located at 497 Stewart Ave., and a 47-year-old employee recognized her from prior shoplifting incidents.
The employee approached her, and Hughes displayed a box cutter in a threatening manner, police said.
She then fled the scene with merchandise from the store, NCPD reported.

Two Long Island teens were charged after they reportedly harassed and beat another juvenile at an area park.
The incident took place around 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 6 at Azalea Park in Levittown.
According to detectives, three males were involved in an altercation at Azalea Park on the corner of Azalea Road and Hilltop Road.

Man Charged After Attacking Employees, Punching Officer In Eye On Long Island
A man has been charged with allegedly attacking a police officer and punching him in the eye during an arrest attempt on Long Island.
The incident took place in Oceanside around 3:10 a.m., Friday, June 17.
According to detectives, Julian Lynch, age 28, of Brooklyn, entered a 7-11 located at 475 Merrick Road. Once inside, he initiated a verbal altercation with a 36-year-old employee and walked around the counter, and hit the victim multiple times with a closed fist in the eye, causing him to hit his head on the counter and fall to the ground.

Man Accused Of Threatening Patron At Suffolk County Bar, Police Say
A Long Island man was arrested for allegedly threatening another person at a popular bar, police said.
Suffolk County resident Christopher Drew, age 34, of Riverhead, was arrested around 11:45 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 12 outside of the Craft'D Bar located at 127 St., in Riverhead.
According to police, Riverhead police responded to the bar after receiving a report of shots fired.
When officers arrived on the scene, witnesses said that no shooting had taken place, but Drew had menaced a patron of the bar and had just left the establishment, police said.
