Burlgar At Large Following $8K Long Island Theft Police are searching for the person who broke into a local Long Island restaurant and made off with thousands of dollars. It happened in Syosset on Sunday, April 7, according to Nassau County Police. At approximately 3:40 a.m. that morning, a burglar forced their way through the back door of Italian-American restaurant Café Testarossa, located at 499 Jericho Turnpike. Once inside, authorities said the thief stole a total of $8,000 cash from the register before fleeing the scene. There are no descriptions of the subject and the investigation is ongoing. Man Accused Of Burglarizing Two Nassau County Stores A 45-year-old man is accused of burglarizing two Long Island stores. Scott Gilmor, of Hicksville, was arrested at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, on Willow Avenue and East Avenue in Hicksville for two burglaries that happened in Nassau County, police reported.
