A woman suffered severe injuries in a crash at a busy Long Island intersection. It happened around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, in Oakdale. A 2020 GMC Sierra was traveling southbound on Oakdale-Bohemia Road when it attempted to make a left turn onto Montauk Highway when it struck the woman, according to Suffolk County Police. A 36-year-old man was killed in a crash on the Long Island Expressway involving a driver with a suspended license, authorities said. The incident happened at around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, in Brentwood, on I-495 near Sagtikos Parkway, according to Suffolk County Police. A sanitation worker is recovering after a garbage truck crashed on Long Island Friday morning, Feb. 10. The incident happened just before 10 a.m. in Riverhead on Kirby Lane, according to the Riverhead Town Police Department. Police are investigating after a driver fled when a car crashed into a Taco Bell on Long Island. The Islip Fire Department received a report at about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 21, that a car had crashed into the Taco Bell, located at 490 Main St., fire officials said. Upon arrival, fire crews found a car had crashed through the west side wall and window of the building.
