A Medford man has been charged in the fatal shooting of an East Patchogue man during a fight outside a house party over the weekend. Nassau County Police Homicide Squad detectives charged Corey Coach, 25, with manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon on Wednesdayy, July 10, police said. Coach is accused of shooting and killing Darnell Smith, 36, about 1:35 a.m. Saturday, July 6, after a fight broke out near Cedar and West lanes in Medford, detectives said. The identity has been released of the man who was shot and killed after a fight broke out overnight in the street during a house party on Long Island. It happened in Medford at around 1:35 a.m. Saturday, July 6 near Cedar Lane and West Lane, Suffolk County Police said. Darnell Smith, 36, of East Patchogue has been ID'd by police as the shooting victim. Smith was transported by private vehicle to the Coram Fire Department on Middle Country Road in Coram. This story has been updated. One man was shot and killed and another stabbed after a fight broke out overnight in the street during a house party on Long Island.
