Raymond Sanabria, age 43, of Elmhurst, was arrested on Tuesday, June 14 in North Lawrence.
Sanabria was developed as a suspect following an investigation by Nassau County police detectives into the death of a Valley Stream man that occurred on Tuesday.
Officers set up a "buy" with Sanabria who arrived at a predetermined location for a sale with undercover officers and was in possession of a substance believed to be heroin, police said.
He was arrested without incident and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Sanabria will be arraigned on Wednesday, June 15, in Hempstead.
