Hudson Valley Driver Rams Several Police Cars During Pursuit, Police Say
Police nabbed a 26-year-old Hudson Valley man after he allegedly rammed numerous police cars during a pursuit and foot chase. The incident occurred in Orange County on Sunday, Sept. 8 in Chester. According to Chester Police Chief Daniel Doellinger, two officers, including K9 Lou, were in a marked patrol vehicle stopped at a red traffic signal on Kings Highway when a motorcycle rear-ended the vehicle. Putnam To Deploy School Bus Cameras To Catch Illegal Passers: Funded By Violators
In an effort to catch drivers who illegally pass stopped school buses, Putnam County has entered into an agreement with a company to add cameras on stop sign arms to catch violators. The county's new partnership with BusPatrol America to add cameras on school bus stop-arms was announced by County Executive Kevin Byrne on Thursday, July 20. Police Dish Out 74 Tickets, Arrest One In I-684 Detail
Dozens of tickets were dished out by New York State Police troopers during a special speed enforcement detail on I-684 in Westchester and Putnam counties this week. During the detail on Tuesday, July 17, troopers issued a total of 74 tickets and made one arrest of one motorist who was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. In total, police doled out 48 speeding tickets, one summons for a motorist not wearing a seatbelt and 25 other tickets for various violations of vehicle and traffic law.
