Blaze Destroys Vehicle In I-84 In Kent A fire completely consumed a vehicle on Interstate 84 in the Hudson Valley.  The blaze happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at around 2:15 p.m., when a vehicle caught on fire on I-84 in Kent, according to the Lake Carmel Fire Department. Fire crews rushed to the scene and were able to put the flames out.  No injuries were reported and the incident was safely brought under control, firefighters said.  "Remember to keep an eye on your vehicle’s condition to help prevent incidents like this," the department said in a social media post on Thursday, Jan. 23.

Man Lights Himself On Fire During Fight With Family In Yonkers, Taken To Hospital A man was rushed to a hospital after lighting himself on fire after a family dispute in Westchester, police said. The incident happened on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at around 8:30 p.m., when a man poured a flammable substance over his body and proceeded to then light himself on fire after a conflict with family members in the area of Purser Place in Yonkers, according to Yonkers Police Sgt. Robert Spink. The man was then taken to a nearby trauma center with severe burns. He was stabilized and admitted for treatment.  More information about the incident was not made available.

Over 1K Residents Without Gas For Months In Yonkers Closer to Relief Thanks to $4.6M Grant More than 1,000 residents of a housing complex in Westchester are one step closer to regaining full services after spending nearly five months without gas.
