Victim ID'd In Deadly Pedestrian Crash On Area Roadway
A 59-year-old woman was hit and killed while crossing a Capital Region roadway. Angela Fisher-Reid, of Schenectady, was struck by a car on Route 7 near Hickory Road in Niskayuna at around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, Niskayuna Police said. Fisher-Reid was taken by ambulance to Ellis Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to police. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Witnesses to the crash are asked to contact the Niskayuna Police Department at 518-386-4598.

An admitted reckless driver who nearly struck a 12-year-old girl getting off a school bus in the region is now behind bars. In Rensselaer County, 22-year-old Angel Pachar pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment in Pittstown Town Court on Wednesday, April 3. Victim ID'd In Deadly Single-Vehicle Crash On Capital Region Highway
Authorities have identified a man who was killed in a single-vehicle crash on a highway in the region. The Albany County wreck happened at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, on Route 7 in Watervliet, according to New York State Police. Akiem Keele, age 33, of Whitehall in Washington County, was riding a motorcycle eastbound on Route 7 at a high rate of speed when he struck a dividing barrier near the exit to I-787. A man who spent years in prison for attempted murder is facing more time behind bars after allegedly leading police on a highway chase through the region in a U-Haul box truck, authorities said.
