Police are searching for witnesses after a Hudson Valley man was shot and killed while driving, causing a rollover crash. The incident began in Orange County in Newburgh around 1:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 8 on Benkard Avenue. The shooting death was discovered while the city of Newburgh officers were responding to a report of shots fired in the area of 32 Benkard Ave., said the Newburgh Police Department. One Injured In Shots-Fired Incident In Area, Police Say
One person was injured during a shots-fired incident in the area. It happened in Orange County around 1:30 a.m., Saturday, July 23 in Newburgh, on Liberty Street. According to Newburgh Police, officers responded to the area of 79 Liberty St. for a Shotspotter report of five shots fired. Less than a minute later the department received another report of rounds fired on Washington Street, police said. Officers located nine expended shell casings in the area of 77 Liberty St. A 28-year-old Newburgh man was shot in the ankle and sustained non-life threatening injuries, police said.…

A Hudson Valley man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2018 slaying of another man. Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler announced on Tuesday, Oct. 19, that Dominique Williams, age 25, of Newburgh, pleaded guilty for the November 2018 slaying of a Newburgh man at the corner of Liberty and Clinton Streets in the City of Newburgh. Man Nabbed With Illegal Handgun After Fleeing From Cops In Area, Police Say
A man was nabbed with an alleged illegal handgun after fleeing from police in the area. Peter Telesco, age 23, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested around 3 p.m., on Tuesday, April 20, in Orange County after the City of Newburgh Police received a call for a man in a grey hoodie with a firearm in the area of South and Liberty streets, said Lieutenant Brandon Rola.
