The crash happened on Thursday, Sept. 26 just after 1 a.m., when a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the southbound lanes of the Hutchinson River Parkway in Mount Vernon between East Lincoln Avenue and East 3rd Street, according to Westchester County Police Public Information Officer Kieran O'Leary.  The woman, a resident of New York City, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
