Collins Coyne announced on Friday, Nov. 8. Man Hospitalized After Bike Hits Car Driving Through Intersection In Yonkers A 65-year-old man was taken to a hospital after a two-vehicle collision at a Westchester intersection.  The crash happened in Yonkers on Thursday, Nov. 7 just before 5:30 p.m., when a car traveling through the intersection of Wakefield and Woodlawn Avenues on a green light was struck by a bicycle, according to Yonkers Police Sergeant Robert Spink.  Spink said the bicyclist reported pain in his leg and hand and was taken to a nearby hospital.  The vehicle involved in the crash remained at the scene.

School Bus Goes Up In Flames In Valhalla A busy road in the region was temporarily closed as crews battled a school bus fire.  The blaze happened on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 7 in Northern Westchester County when the bus caught on fire in Valhalla on Grasslands Road (Route 100), according to the Valhalla Fire Department. Luckily, no students were aboard the bus at the time and no injuries were reported. The blaze was quickly put out and the bus was removed from the road, the department said, adding that the roadway was then reopened to traffic.

Former Chief Of Ardsley Fire Department Dies: 'Will Be Sorely Missed' The beloved former chief of a Westchester County fire department is being remembered for serving his community for six decades.  Joseph Marsek, the former chief of the Ardsley Fire Department, died on Monday, Nov. 4 at the age of 81, according to his obituary.  According to the department, Marsek was a Life Member who served for 60 years.  "Joe was a mentor to all of us and loved by so many.
