A woman has been apprehended after police say she stabbed her mother to death on Thanksgiving Eve in a quiet residential neighborhood on Long Island, police said. Police are asking for help in locating a 16-year-old Long Island girl who has been missing for nearly two weeks. Amanda Tucker, of Dix Hills, was last seen on Friday, Sept. 20, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. She was previously reported missing in April, Suffolk County Police said. Tucker is 5-foot-4 and 252 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. A man who helped run a Long Island soccer club for children admitted in court that he embezzled more than $76,000 from the group to use on personal expenses, the authorities said.
