Ulster County Man To Spend Up to 29 Years In Prison For Brutal Murder
A Hudson Valley man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for killing another man, plus an additional one to four years for tampering with evidence.
Ulster County resident Joseph Karolys, age 39, of Saugerties, was sentenced to 25 years on Thursday, Oct. 3, for the Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, killing of David "Mickey" Myer, also of Saugerties, said Ulster County District Attorney Emmanuel C. Nneji.

Woman, 25, Killed After Car Rolls Over Several Times On NY Thruway

A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash after her car rolled multiple times on the Adirondack Northway.
The collision occurred in Saratoga County around 4:50 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1, on the Northway north of the Exit 14 off-ramp in Saratoga Springs.
According to New York State Police Trooper Stephanie O'Neil, the crash caused one of the vehicles to overturn and killed the driver, identified as Makenzie T. Minkler, age 25, of Rensselaer.
Minkler was transported for severe injuries but died shortly after at Saratoga Hospital, O'Neil said

Guilty: Hudson Valley Man To Spend Years Behind Bars For Forcible Rape
A Hudson Valley man will spend years behind bars after being found guilty by a jury of forcible rape.
Orange County resident Jesse Boniface, age 52, of Middletown, was convicted on Tuesday, Oct. 1, of the rape which occurred in the town of Crawford, according to Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.
As alleged at trial, on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, Boniface engaged in sexual intercourse and oral sex by force with another person.
The attack was reported to the Crawford Police, who, after conducting an investigation, arrested Boniface.
