Investigation Determines Cause Of WWI Replica Fatal Plane Crash In Hudson Valley An initial investigation has determined the cause of a crash that claimed the life of a well-known pilot at an air show in New York. Just before 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 in Dutchess County, a World War I-era replica Fokker D.VIII caught fire, causing the plane to crash near the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome during an exhibition in Red Hook. The sole occupant of the plane, 60-year-old Madison County resident Brian T. Coughlin, of the town of Cazenovia, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Red Hook Police. Vintage Plane Involved In Air Show Mid-Air Collision Crash Lands In Trees In Hudson Valley Officials are investigating following a mid-air collision during an air show in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 3:30 p.m., Sunday, July 28, in the area of the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Rhinebeck. Airborne Car Crashes Into Hudson Valley Home, Police Say An out-of-control car that went airborne after hitting an embankment struck a home in the region. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30 on Route 9G in the town of Red Hook. According to Red Hook Police, the crash took place when a 2002 Subaru driven by a 41-year-old Catskills man was driving south on Walkers Hill Road when the car crossed into the northbound lane, struck an embankment, became airborne, and hit the home. The collision took place in Dutchess County around 5:15 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 10 in the area of 537 Salt Point Turnpike in the town of Hyde Park. According to Chief Robert Benson of the Hyde Park Police, Tyler J. McEnroe, of Millbrook, was driving a 1997 Subaru Hatchback when he lost control, overturned, and was partially ejected.
