A Rockland County family is mourning the loss of one of its young sons, who died following a devastating crash that happened while they were on their way to vacation in Florida.
Mark Hlovatsky, 12, of Spring Valley, died on Monday, March 30, following the March 28 crash in North Carolina that also left his younger brother seriously hurt, according to his obituary.
As previously reported by Daily Voice, the Hlovatsky family — parents Yuriy and Yuliya and their three sons — were driving to Florida for a vacation when their vehicle was struck from behind by a pickup truck.

A fire that killed five people — including three children — inside an Albany home is now being investigated as suspicious, according to police.
Flames tore through a residence on Twiller Street near South Bertha Street around 10:40 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, as Daily Voice reported. When officers and firefighters arrived, they found the home fully engulfed, with several people trapped inside.

Tragic Accident Leaves Boy, 12, Dead, Girl, 11, Critical In Capital Region
A 12-year-old boy was killed, and an 11-year-old girl is in critical condition after falling through the ice on a Capital Region lake.
The incident occurred in Albany around 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, at Washington Park Lake near the park's lake house.
According to Albany Police, police and firefighters located and rescued the girl. She was treated on scene and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital for further treatment.
