Drunk Driver Kills 2 Passengers In Single-Vehicle Crash In Albany, Police Say
A 25-year-old Albany woman is facing vehicular homicide charges after allegedly causing a drunken crash that killed her two passengers.
The crash happened just before 7 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, when a vehicle left the roadway and went down an embankment on southbound I-787 near Exit 5 in Albany, according to New York State Police.
Three people were found inside the vehicle with severe injuries. Two passengers, identified as Jamilla Tirado, 27, and Cepelynn Johnson, 25, both of Albany, were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A New Jersey woman was arrested after fleeing police and being tracked down hours later at a New Jersey motel, authorities said.
On Wednesday, Sept. 17, Officer Gregory Bulick was on patrol in Saddle River when a white SUV sped past him while driving recklessly, the department said in a press release.
Bulick attempted a traffic stop, but police said the driver, later identified as Kaitlyn Slicker-Abulteen, of Warwick, NY, accelerated even more after he activated his emergency lights and sirens. For safety reasons, Bulick ended the pursuit and issued a BOLO to nearby departments.

A woman was found unresponsive after a nearly 50-mile police chase that ended in Oswego County, New York State Police announced on Monday, Sept. 15.

Actor Dylan Walsh, best known for his role in "Nip/Tuck," is facing multiple motor vehicle charges in connection with a Rumson crash earlier this month, court records show.

Troopers tried to stop a northbound vehicle on I-787 for a traffic violation at about 12:29 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, according to police. The driver, Mamadou O. Diallo, 28, of St. Albans, allegedly refused to pull over, sparking a two-mile pursuit before stopping. Diallo was taken into custody at the scene, investigators said.

A Hudson Valley man is facing felony charges after he was caught driving drunk with four children in the car, police said.
Ruben Fernandez-Urena, 34, of Yonkers, was arrested early Sunday, July 27, following a traffic stop on I-87 near Exit 9 in Tarrytown, according to New York State Police.
During the stop, Fernandez-Urena appeared intoxicated and failed multiple field sobriety tests, police said. A breath sample taken at the Tarrytown barracks reportedly showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.12%.

Two New York men are facing kidnapping charges after picking up a teen they met on social media without permission, police said.
David Hadsell and Mario Sierra, both 20, were arrested on Tuesday, May 6, following an investigation by New York State Police.
Troopers in Montgomery County were called at around 9 p.m. Monday, May 5, for a report of a missing teenager in the town of Root, police said.

A routine traffic stop in the Capital Region ended with a 16-year-old girl in handcuffs on weapons charges.
Watervliet Police stopped a vehicle at around 5 p.m. Sunday, March 23. During the investigation, the officer determined that the 16-year-old girl driving did not have a valid driver’s license.
The officer then discovered a loaded, illegally-possessed 22 caliber handgun protruding from the waistband of a 16-year-old girl in the passenger’s seat, police said.

5 Capital Region Men Nabbed On Gun Charges, Police Say
Five people were charged with allegedly having loaded weapons during a Hudson Valley traffic stop.
The incident occurred in Orange County around 3:40 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, in Wallkill.
According to Lt. Robert McLymore of the Wallkill Police, the department, along with the New York State Police, performed a vehicle stop at Exit 116 on Route 17, which led to the arrest of five of the five suspects.
A subsequent investigation resulted in the recovery of three loaded firearms, McLymore said.

Two men from the region were nabbed for alleged felony DWI in two separate incidents.
Dutchess County residents Christopher J. Duquette, age 66, of Hyde Park, and Nelson Acevedo, age 53, of Beekman, were both charged on Sunday, June 30, said Capt. John Watterson with the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.
Duquette was charged after deputies responded to a one-car crash around 8:50 p.m. on Route 9 for a report of a collision, Watterson said.
