A 28-year-old man was arrested after allegedly using a customer’s forgotten credit card to rack up more than $1,600 in charges in Rockland County, police said.
The incident happened on Monday, Aug. 11, around 8:21 p.m. at the Sloatsburg Service Area, New York State Police said on Monday, Aug. 18.
According to investigators, 28-year-old Raufoliana O. Louis Jean of Spring Valley, who worked at the service area, took a credit card that had been left behind and made purchases without the owner’s permission.

A smoked fish recall is affecting more than 70 grocery stores across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut due to a life-threatening botulism risk, health officials said.

Police responded to White Rock Elementary School in Oak Ridge around 6:34 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, where they made contact with Jean Audain, 57, of Spring Valley, NY, identified as the bus driver, Jefferson Police Capt. Robert Bush said.

The Garden Fresh Market, located in Rockland County in Spring Valley, will have its soft opening on Wednesday, Oct. 23, and its grand opening on Saturday, Oct. 26, said owner Wilson Bermeo of New City.

A Hudson Valley man will spend the next 25 years in prison for raping and beating a woman twice.
Rockland County resident Rigoberto Lopez Castro, age 26, of Spring Valley, was sentenced on Wednesday, June 5, to a total of 25 years for the two rapes and one count of burglary, said Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II.
