An ice fishing trip ended in tragedy after a snowmobile went through the ice on a pond, New York State Police announced on Monday, Jan. 19.
Three people were ice fishing on Chaumont Pond — which connects to the Oswegatchie River in the Town of Clifton — when they failed to return home, troopers said.

Man Killed When Tree Falls On Him In NY: Police Investigating
A 45-year-old man died after being struck by a tree he was cutting in Orange County, authorities said.
The incident happened in the town of Wallkill on Thursday, Sept. 4, at around 1:30 p.m. in a wooded area near 38 Derby Rd., the Town of Wallkill Police Department announced on Saturday, Sept. 6.
