Man Dies Shoveling Snow In NJ: Police
A 67-year-old man died shoveling snow in Essex County, New Jersey on Sunday, Jan. 25, authorities said. At 12:44 p.m., officers responded to Beach Road and Martin Road for a report of a person down on the sidewalk, Verona police said. They found the man on his back unresponsive with a shovel in his hand, police said. CPR was initiated and he was transported to Mountainside Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. The victim has not been identified, police said.

Two Long Island women were killed and another critically injured when a pontoon boat flipped on Flagstaff Lake in Maine, officials announced on Saturday, Aug. 30. A 25-year-old man died after being pulled unresponsive from a backyard swimming pool after a party at a home on Long Island Saturday, July 19, authorities said. A homeowner on Bloomington Street in Medford found Sleigan Laroc's body in the water at approximately 9:35 p.m., Suffolk County police said.
