Services Announced For HS Coach Killed In Taconic Parkway Crash In Hudson Valley Family and friends will gather next week to say goodbye to Robert “Rob” Violante, a beloved New Jersey high school coach and educator from Westchester County who was tragically killed in a fatal crash on the Taconic State Parkway in New York.  Violante, age 45, of the hamlet of Granite Springs in Somers, was driving home from work on Wednesday, May 14, when his vehicle was struck head-on by a van that crossed the median near mile marker 9.2 in New Castle, as previously reported by Daily Voice.
